All poems submitted to Paper Knives email magazine are first considered on the basis of the author's ability to meet formal constraints of 11 lines and 50 words or less. Editorial selection considers the musicality of the writing, its ideas and themes, its depictions of sense detail, and its engagement with audience. Paper Knives seeks to create a broad tent for poems that convey a diversity of perspective/voice and originality/concept by emerging and established writers that reflect and celebrate the ecological and socioeconomic diversity of the Chiwaukee region.
Paper Knives email magazine is edited by Nicholas Michael Ravnikar. He earned an MFA from Naropa University's Kerouac School of Disembodied Poetics after studying at Columbia College and the University of Wisconsin-Parkside.
