The Poetry Movement is preparing to roll-out a more extensive, searchable Chiwaukee Literary Directory & Archive in 2027 that will list open mics, reading series, contests, publications and writers groups throughout the Chiwaukee region, the third largest economic region of the United States. For now, please enjoy the open mic list below, along with our sstatic webpages for individual cities and regions linked above.
Developing a community of writers, musicians, storytellers, comedians and musicians helps to make a vibrant and lively exchange of ideas and aesthetics that showcase the many different artistic flavors of the greater Chicago-Milwaukee region.
If you host or regularly attend a poetry-friendly open mic, know of a bookstore in the region that's poetry-friendly, or participate in a poetry organization, please email the details of your event to info@thepoetrymovement.org, including the day, start and end time, address and name of location, title of the event and host's name, as well as any other information you would like to provide. A form will be available for you to submit new listings soon. If details about the event change or the set gets cancelled, please send a follow-up email.
